Description
A Barcode Head, commonly known as a barcode printhead, is a crucial component in thermal barcode printers responsible for generating high-quality barcode images on labels, tags, and receipts. It works by applying controlled heat (in thermal printers) or directing ink (in inkjet-based systems) to create precise patterns of bars and spaces that can be read by scanners.
How It Works
Barcode heads in thermal printers operate in two ways:
1. Direct Thermal (DT):
Uses heat-sensitive paper. The printhead applies heat to create the barcode directly on the label.
2. Thermal Transfer (TT):
Uses a ribbon. Heat from the printhead melts the ribbon ink onto the label surface.
